What is your role in school?
Head of Secondary Maths.
Are you a coffee or tea person?
Coffee.
Where did you grow up?
Devon, UK.
What was your favourite subject in school?
Maths, of course!
Did you have a subject you disliked?
Probably PE, but I think I would love it now.
What’s your current favourite weekend activity?
Hiking or going to the beach.
What is your go-to comfort food or favourite restaurant in Dubai?
Comfort food — Lebanese food.
Restaurant — Masti.
2. BEING A TEACHER
What inspired you to become a teacher?
My sixth form Maths teacher, Ms Burnham, inspired me.
Funniest thing that has happened in your class?
I fell off a stool and all the buttons on my shirt popped off.

If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be?
An author.
Hidden talent?
Karaoke.
Favourite movie / TV show / song / book?
The Lord of the Rings.

Something people would be surprised to know about you?
I have a Law degree.
Best trip or destination you’ve ever visited?
Thailand.
How do you relax after a long school day?
Go to the gym and eat good food.
