BREEZE Engineering Challenge: Design a Cooling Jacket and Win $10,200

Calling all engineers and inventors: a new competition is offering a $10,200 cash prize, a fully funded build and the chance of a paid job to whoever can design the best cooling jacket.

The BREEZE Engineering Challenge asks entrants to design and build a jacket that keeps the wearer cool. It’s a timely challenge for anyone who has lived through a Dubai summer! The organisers have now added a $10,200 cash prize for the team with the best jacket.

The Challenge

Entrants must design and build the best cooling jacket they can. Designs that make it through to the build round will have their parts paid for, with up to $10,000 of funding for each design. That means teams can turn their ideas into a working prototype without worrying about the cost of materials.

What’s Up for Grabs

  • $10,200 cash prize for the team with the best jacket, on top of the fully funded build.
  • Up to $10,000 to build your design if it goes through to the build round.
  • A 3% share of royalties for 10 years if your design ends up in BREEZE’s product.
  • A paid job with equity for anyone who stands out during the challenge.

Who Can Enter?

The competition is free to enter and open to anyone aged 18 or over. You can take part on your own or in a team of up to eight people.

Places are limited: only eight teams will be selected to take part, so it pays to apply early.

How to Apply

Applications close on 23 November. To find out more and apply, visit thermalabs.io/challenge.
