67th London International Youth Science Forum

The London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) is one of the world’s most respected international STEM programmes, designed to bring together talented young scientists from across the globe. Held annually in London, the forum welcomes over 500 students aged 16–21 from more than 70 countries, creating a unique environment where science meets culture, innovation, and collaboration.

At its core, LIYSF is about inspiration and exposure. Participants attend lectures delivered by leading scientists, researchers, and industry professionals, gaining insight into cutting-edge developments in fields such as artificial intelligence, medicine, engineering, and environmental science. These sessions go beyond textbooks, showing students how scientific theories are applied in the real world to solve global challenges.

One of the most exciting aspects of the programme is the opportunity to visit some of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious universities, including the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. These visits give students a taste of university life while allowing them to explore advanced laboratories and research facilities. For many, it is the first time they experience the environment of world-class academic institutions.

Beyond academics, LIYSF places a strong emphasis on international collaboration and cultural exchange. Students live and work alongside peers from different countries, sharing ideas, perspectives, and experiences. This global interaction helps build communication skills, cultural awareness, and lifelong friendships—qualities that are just as important as scientific knowledge in today’s interconnected world.

The programme also includes social events, debates, and group activities that encourage teamwork and creativity. Whether discussing solutions to climate change or collaborating on innovative ideas, participants are constantly challenged to think critically and work together.

In terms of impact, LIYSF is highly valued by universities and future employers. It demonstrates not only a strong interest in STEM but also initiative, curiosity, and the ability to engage in an international academic setting. For students considering careers in science, engineering, or technology, the forum can be a defining experience that shapes their ambitions and direction.
